NILS 2.4.27 Release Notes - 11/10/20

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching released an enhanced version of the Networked Improvement Learning and Support (NILS) platform on November 10, 2020.

Enhancements in the November 2020 2.0 NILS Release:

  • Driver Diagram Tool:

The Driver Diagram authoring feature has been updated as follows:

    • Tertiary drivers can be added from secondary drivers on the diagram.
    • Lines connecting the aim, drivers, and change ideas show an arrow when connecting to the parent element.
  • PDSA:

The PDSA feature has been updated as follows:

    • The Guided PDSA Act section displays the following text: “Note: After saving your Act decision, you will not be able to edit your completed PDSA. Please add all of your information to this PDSA before saving your Act decision.”
    • The Freeform PDSA Act section displays the following text: “Note: After publishing your PDSA, you will not be able to edit your completed PDSA. Please add all of your information to this PDSA before publishing.”

How is this different from the previous version?

  • Driver Diagram Tool
    • Linkages on the driver diagram now show arrows from an element to that element’s parent (e.g., an arrow from a change idea to a secondary driver).
    • Hub members can now add tertiary drivers on the driver diagram.
  • PDSA
    • PDSAs now display text alerting testers that they will not be able to edit their completed PDSAs after they take an action on the PDSA.
