NILS 2.4.10 Release Notes - 7/11/19

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching released an enhanced version of the Networked Improvement Learning and Support (NILS) platform on July 11, 2019.

Enhancements in the July 2019 2.0 NILS Release:

  • PDSAs:

The freeform PDSA option has been updated as follows:

    • Learning questions entered in the driver diagram now populate within the freeform PDSA
    • The freeform PDSA can be set to an “initial” or “standard” testing format, whereby testers enter a preliminary “Act” decision within the freeform text in the “initial” format, or select an official “Act” decision in the “standard” format
  • Notifications:

The notifications feature has been updated as follows:

    • Email notifications are in the midst of an overhaul to include HTML-formatted enhancements and a functional redesign

How is this different from the previous version?

  • PDSAs
    • Learning questions now automatically populate in a freeform PDSA from the change idea authored in the driver diagram.
    • Testers can now run “initial” or “standard” tests on change ideas, based on hub members’ decisions about whether members of the NIC are ready to make official “Act” decisions on change ideas, or whether more initial testing is necessary before making official “Adopt,” “Adapt,” or “Abandon” decisions.
  • Notifications
    • Formerly, all email notifications were sent in plain text.
