The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching released an enhanced version of the Networked Improvement Learning and Support (NILS) platform on June 21, 2019.
Enhancements in the June 2019 2.0 NILS Release:

Activity Assignment:
Assignment to activities has been updated as follows:
- Members can be assigned to activities as individuals or by group

Groups:
The groups feature has been updated as follows:
- Both structural and affinity groups can be affiliated with activities
- Long posts show a “View More” option to expand the text

Text Formatting:
Text formatting on NILS has been updated as follows:
- Formatting in various text fields is being optimized on the site

Notifications:
The notifications feature has been updated as follows:
- Email notifications are in the midst of an overhaul to include HTML-formatted enhancements and a functional redesign
How is this different from the previous version?
- Activity Assignment
- Members in a structural or affinity group can now be assigned together to an activity.
- Groups
- Structural and affinity groups can now be affiliated with activities.
- Long posts in groups now feature a “View More” option to expand the text.
- Text Formatting
- Text formatting now better supports a WYSIWYG (or, what-you-see-is-what-you-get) interface for editing text.
- Notifications
- Formerly, all email notifications were sent in plain text.
